WAREHOUSE INFO - CLAUDIA'S CLOWN SHOP |
This page explains the purpose of Claudia's Clown Shop and what you players can do with the Shop. What is Claudia's Clown Shop? The Regents and the Agents realized the nature of the arriving characters right away and foresaw a great problem - who wants to find out they are fictional? Who wants to deal with fictional characters brought to life? (On the OOC part of things, we Mods realize not all players enjoy canon-puncturing their characters. And we absolutely respect this. However, the only played characters in this setting who aren't considered fictional are the ones native to the setting. So, to respect players’ desires to not have their character canon-punctured, we've set up this in-game feature to explain the characters' presence to the NPCs.) To combat this problem, the Regents agreed to never mention it to the arriving characters - they are living beings from another dimension (which is true), and they deemed that a sufficient explanation to tell the arriving characters. The Agents and Warehouse personnel have all been instructed to not bring up the fictionality of the characters unless the characters bring it up first. To give the people of Univille an explanation for this influx of people, the Regents and the Agents came up with Claudia's Clown Shop, a party supply and planning store through which all of these incoming characters are independent contractor character-impersonators who make party appearances. But this is ONLY the cover story of the shop - if any NPC from Univille were to call and schedule a party, they would find every day they want is always booked. The people of Univille will never know the truth behind the shop or its independent contractors. Your character never needs to know about their connection to the clown shop if you don't want - if you don't want your character canon-punctured, they will not be punctured, not by NPCs and not by played characters. The NPCs will not make a big deal about the clown shop, and players should know to respect other players’ feelings regarding canon-puncturability. Your character never needs to go into the shop. Or they can go into the shop to use the services Claudia and Hugo provide for the characters, and not learn about their connection to the cover story of the clown shop. What services does the shop provide? Claudia and Hugo use the back rooms of the shop for a few things.☆ To manage all the electronics the Warehouse uses - this includes the Farnsworths and the hologram projectors the characters are given. However, that doesn't mean Claudia and Hugo will patiently repair your communication device every time you break it. Anger or annoy them and they might just make you go Farnsworth-less until they feel you've sufficiently learned your lesson. ☆ If your character has one of these needs, then you can respond to this post with what your character needs, and the Mods will let you know what the Agents can provide for your character. (When we say 'need,' we don't mean a lightsaber or a favorite teddy bear. Your character can ask, of course, but as mentioned above, Claudia and Hugo don't have endless patience. It's best to not get on their nerves.) |
