PREMISE
GAME PREMISE |
The Warehouse began as Alexander the Great’s private collection of Artifacts obtained during his conquest of the classical world. His greed in plundering the treasures of the people he subjugated proved to be his downfall; his death was no accident and was assisted by one of the very Artifacts he had taken for his own. Seeing a need to protect the world from such dangerous objects, the Regents were formed as the governing body of what is now known as the Warehouse organization. They tasked themselves with collecting harmful Artifacts for safe-keeping while simultaneously protecting the world by preventing those who would use these Artifacts for ill against humanity from achieving their goals. Over time, the organization grew to employ Agents to do the collecting, while the Regents faded into the background to run operations from the shadows. There have been 13 iterations of the Warehouse since the first one was built in Macedonia. The latest is located in the middle of nowhere, built right into the side of the Black Hills in the heart of South Dakota, where it is safely isolated from the general public. However, the Warehouse has always been the target of those special few villainous-at-heart, persistent individuals who’ve found out about the organization or Artifacts one way or another. The Agents, in addition to tracking down Artifacts, are constantly on the offensive against this very tiny segment of the world’s population. But sometimes these individuals (or groups) get the better of the Warehouse. And when that happens, all hell tends to break loose, given powerful Artifacts are involved. Now, the Agents are dealing with an interesting challenge. What started as a garden-variety bag and tag blossomed into an ever-growing problem. The Artifact they were sent out to retrieve was the camera of Cecil B. DeMille. It had more than one function, but they only knew of one, that it would bring to life whatever it put to film. What they didn’t know was that when the Artifact was activated and then split into its two halves, it would then tear a hole in the fabric of the universe that separates their reality from the infinite alternate dimensions that make up the multi-verse. Unfortunately, that routine bag and tag didn’t go as intended. Someone broke the Artifact in two before the Agents could retrieve it, thus creating a dimensional portal. The Artifact started pulling people into this reality; innocent lives torn from their homes in their universes, seemingly at random, and then deposited in the Warehouse. The Agents were only able to retrieve one half of the Artifact – the half pulling people into this world. Without both halves of the Artifact, the Agents discovered they could not send these displaced people home. And the perpetrator who started it all got away. Currently, the Agents are struggling to track down the individual responsible for this mess and to recover the second half of the Artifact while simultaneously dealing with the influx of extra-dimensional 'visitors.' The Agents will soon learn they might need the help of these extra-dimensional guests - the individual responsible for this problem seems to have more in mind than causing one tiny rift in space and time. Welcome to the Warehouse. ~ ☆ ~ The Warehouse is a Pan-Fandom RPG set in the Warehouse 13/Eureka universe. It is open to all fandoms. Canon characters, Canon OCs, and Canon AUs are welcome.
