FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
This is such an extensive topic that we have a page dedicated to detailing this. ☆ For NON-WH13/Eureka characters - go HERE to learn how characters arrive, and what happens to them immediately after. ☆ For WH13/Eureka characters, because they are NPCs when not being played, their 'arrival' process is obviously different - they've already 'arrived.' Go HERE to learn about it. Players apping non-WH13 characters are only required to read everything in the first link, but it is good to read both. Players apping a WH13/Eureka character are required to read both links. Most characters are housed at Leena's Bed and Breakfast. Characters who work for the Warehouse organization or who were brought to this reality by the camera will initially be housed at Leena's B&B. The Regents realized they needed to provide a place for the characters to live, considering they are responsible for them. The Regents house their Agents and other personnel at Leena's B&B. Leena works for the Warehouse in another capacity as well, but manages the B&B. The Regents decided to use one of their harmless Artifacts to expand the interior of the B&B so that there are always enough rooms for the characters that choose to live there. If your character asks about this very unusual feature of Leena's B&B they will not get a straight answer, most commonly they will be told that that is just how it is. We've detailed the B&B's accommodations HERE. OC Univille residents will live in Univille, and players will need to come up with housing for these characters. And players of characters brought here by the Artifact can certainly have their character move out of the B&B to live somewhere else in Univille. Come talk to the Mods if you want your character to do this. Lots to answer here! And because of that, we've dedicated a whole page to going over Warehouse stuff over HERE. Everyone must read the information on that page. No, seriously! NOPE! No one needs to see the shows to play in this setting. However, we highly recommend the shows because they are awesome. We will point out that some things will make more sense if you've seen the shows. If you haven't seen the shows and don't plan to, make sure you read all the information available on the game pages. And if you have questions, do not hesitate to ask. A mysterious individual gave an aspiring young director Cecil B. DeMille's camera. It was, in fact, an Artifact. When the young director used that camera, believing it would make his finished project feel and look more realistic than anything being produced at the time, he unknowingly activated the Artifact. Soon after activation, the mysterious individual broke the Artifact and took one half with them, which has been missing ever since. However, the story does not end there. The Artifact had the most peculiar effect - when the Artifact was broken in two, it tore a hole in the boundaries that separate this universe from all the other universes in the multi-verse; and then it started pulling characters from their home dimensions to this one. Any fictional character, from any kind of medium - movies, TV, books, comics, cartoons. And this is how your character came to exist in the realm of this game. Unfortunately, the two pieces must be rejoined to stop the Artifact, and no one knows the current location of the stolen half. But do not despair - the Agents are doing their best to find the other half (unfortunately, they keep getting sidetracked by all their other obligations and the chaos caused by this mysterious individual). Only what can be on your character's body or easily carried at the time of arrival. These objects (and small pets or infants) must reasonably be with your character at the canon point they are pulled from. And sorry, no vehicles or large animals (like a horse) will be arriving with the characters. Characters can arrive with their cell phones and bank account information. However, sadly, such accounts won't transfer with them. Their cell phones won't work and their credit/debit cards and checks won't work either. So, sorry, if your character was a billionaire back home, they won't start off as one in WH. 7. What about weapons? And speaking of things that can kill, my character has some meta-powers. How will they work in this setting? Weapons Yes - as long as they are hand-held and were with the character at the canon point they are taken from. So sorry, no tanks or bazookas, but knives, swords, hand-held guns, etc. are fine. Keep in mind that the Regents will expect the characters to be law-abiding citizens. If your character has a weapon and acts in a way contrary to this, the Regents will intervene and take that weapon away. Meta Powers/Abilities Aside from the ‘no killing/serious injury’ measures outlined HERE, characters have full access to their powers. Individual character’s abilities are still governed by the rules of said character’s respective canon, and these canon rules all exist simultaneously together here in the WH universe courtesy of the camera Artifact. Characters from one fandom can only use/learn the meta abilities/powers from another fandom if that other fandom’s canon rules about meta abilities/powers allow it and if that canon is present in game. (Ex: Muggles - non-magical folks - cannot learn Harry Potter magic no matter the fandom they are from. However, anyone could learn Buffy ‘verse magic, because that canon says just about anyone can learn some Buffy ‘verse magic.) This is a game that has objects that do strange, powerful things. Sometimes, characters’ abilities can trump the effects of Artifacts or be used to stop Artifacts. But no character is all-powerful. Some Artifacts’ effects cannot simply be negated by the characters' powers - those Artifacts must be deactivated first by specific means as dictated by the rules of the WH universe. We Mods will let you know what will affect the Artifacts when plots are announced. This is a game with many different powerful characters. Be respectful of what other players say their characters can do according to their canon rules. Players should keep in mind they cannot use their characters (powered or not) to disrupt the overall flow of the game. If a player is doing this, they will be spoken to by the Mods. If characters are using their powers in a negative way (to break the law, harm others, or reveal the truth about the WH and the people connected to the WH – including showing off their powers overtly in public), the Regents will step in and stop the characters. They might just give the character a stern warning – depending on the severity of the action - OR they might implement more invasive measures on your character to prevent this in the future. (Because of this, players must clear with the Mods any plots that involve overtly using their meta powers in public or overtly breaking the law.) Keep in mind that the Regents have a trump card over the characters in the form of the purple goo. That info is outlined HERE. We answer this question a number of places, but feel it should be covered often. Named for the brilliant scientist Philo T. Farnsworth, their inventor, Farnsworths are a type of communications device. They look like THIS and here's another VIEW, and they can do the following: ☆ Video and/or voice communications only. (Sorry, no text or internet - your character is welcome to get their own cell phones for that kind of thing.) Characters can leave video and/or voice messages with them, or use them like a phone to have a real-time conversation. While on the show they cannot make 'mass' calls or messages, for the purpose of the game Claudia and Hugo have found a way to give the characters their own 'network' on which they can do such things (post mass messages, filtered messages, etc). ☆ They can only access other Farnsworths and the Farnsworth Network - they operate on their own signal that cannot be hacked. All WH personnel have a Farnsworth, too. ☆ They act as universal translators. As long as your character has their Farnsworth on them, they will be able to understand and communicate in English. ☆ If your character breaks or loses their Farnsworth, they must appeal to the Warehouse agents for a replacement. They may not get what they ask for - just so you know - so your character should be careful. They are about the size of an iPhone, and yes, they are in a tin case that, when opened, is a bit bulky. But they are light and easy to use. The Bronze Sector is a section inside the Warehouse that houses some of the world's most dangerous individuals. It is no ordinary prison with cells and bars and guards watching over the inmates. No, the individuals housed here are all bronzed. Through a delicate process involving an Artifact and a processing chamber they are put into stasis, and they come out looking like bronze statues (a bit like Han Solo's carbonite experience). This place is maximum security and only the top personnel can go here. If your character causes too much of a fuss and proves they will not abide by the laws of the land (and the other rules imposed by the Regents), they will be tracked down, neutralized, captured, and then bronzed for a period of time determined by the Regents. Your character does not want to be bronzed - they are fully conscious the whole time they are encased. Allow Claudia (a Warehouse Agent) to demonstrate. (But warning - spoilers for images from season 4 of WH13.) The bronzing chamber looks like THIS, and bronzed individuals look like THIS. The tether between characters and the camera has now been broken, so they are free to travel as far as their money and IDs will take them. Non-human characters will have to keep their holoprojectors on at all times when out of the B&B, whether they’re in Univille or another state or country. Characters are also still expected to be law-abiding citizens while traveling – the Regents have Ways to find out what you’re up to, and can and will bring you back to Univille if necessary. However, the characters cannot leave Earth. Sorry! This game takes place on a version of Earth that is mostly as we, the players, understand modern Earth to be. The differences are the Artifacts and a few people with extraordinary abilities (but nothing on the scale of X-men and the like). We'll give you the short of it: Are there NPCs? Hells yes there are! There are only humans, sadly, so there is little variety of sentient life. Very few NPCs know about the existence of the Warehouse organization, or about Artifacts. If an NPC knows, we will point that out to you (the Regents, the Agents, WH personnel, and the mysterious individual causing chaos are the only ones so far). But plots in the future will require some NPCs in the know - and again, we'll let you know! The NPCs of Univille will not know your character is connected with the Warehouse. They aren't even aware of what the Warehouse really is. Your character might notice the NPC population of Univille is hostile toward the Warehouse agents. That is because they've been told the Warehouse is a storage facility for old IRS documents, and no one likes the IRS. If anything, the NPCs of Univille might think your character works for 'Claudia's Clown Shop: for all your party needs!', a business claiming to hire out celebrity/character impersonators along with planning parties and selling party supplies. Some people on this version of Earth have extraordinary abilities. Steve Jinks and Pete Lattimer - two agents at the Warehouse - are two examples. Steve can tell when people are lying or telling the truth. Pete gets 'vibes,' like a sixth sense, that warn him of danger and help him direct his actions so they result in the most favorable outcome for him. Not many humans have these extraordinary abilities, so your character is not going to run into any NPCs not affiliated with the Warehouse or meta plot who have these abilities. We will let players know if an introduced NPC has some kind of extraordinary abilities. More about the specific NPCs your character will interact with can be found HERE. What can my character procure from their fandoms? If it could be found in modern Earth as we know it, then it may be possible to procure in the game. Keep in mind Univille is in the middle of Nowhere, USA. They have a few privately owned businesses, some schools, local government and a few agencies, one mega store (*cough*Walmart*cough*) on the outskirts of town - and that's about it. What they can't get in the town can be purchased on the internet, however. But keep in mind the Regents monitor this area extensively; nuclear material (or other highly illegal/dangerous material) will not be shipped through mail without them knowing and confiscating it. For certain 'special needs,' like blood or synthetic blood for vampires, the Warehouse Personnel have created solutions in these cases. These supplies can be found at Claudia's Clown Shop (you can check that out HERE). If your character relies on a specific thing to function, come talk to the Mods! Where is Univille, really? What's in it? If you look at a map of South Dakota, Univille (and the Warehouse) sit smack dab in the middle of nowhere. But we just pointed to all of South Dakota, you say? Okay, fine - here's a closer look at the MAP. What's in it? We detail that and more over HERE on our page about Univille. Only the Regents, the Warehouse personnel, and the mysterious person causing chaos know the characters brought to life are fictional characters in this reality (but in their realities they are as real as anyone on Earth). The Regents - always the secretive bunch - have instructed all Warehouse personnel to not bring up this fact unless the characters talk to them specifically about it first. Even then, they've been told to keep the discussion to a minimum. So neither the Regents nor the Warehouse personnel will blurt this out. The mysterious person is also not going to mention the characters' fictionality - that is not part of their plan. The Regents have taken measures to keep the NPCs of Univille from knowing about this fact. ☆ The ID misnames are intentional. (And they will not be corrected, no matter how your character asks.) ☆ Claudia's Clown Shop's facade is there to give a reason why the characters are in town (Details on that HERE). And because the Agents will be seen talking to the characters, for the most part, the NPCs of Univille will not want to delve too deep into why the characters are there. No one wants to associate with government taxes. SO - if you don't want to have your character canon-punctured, no NPC will do it to your character. And you would simply play it out that your character never encounters an NPC who might spill the beans. Since we list on the Taken page who is puncturable and who isn't, all players have the information to properly respect everyone's wishes. All players should be aware of who is and is not canon-puncturable. If you do not respect other players' desires regarding this, the Mods will be upset, yo. If you wish to canon-puncture your character, please do not do this in an overt, in-your-face way in the game. Discussing it among friends is certainly fine, but please avoid posts that do not allow others the option to pass it by. Characters from the WH13/Eureka fandoms cannot be 'canon punctured'. In this universe WH13 and Eureka are not television shows. For the purpose of this game, while the shows exist for us, they do not exist for the characters. So even if a character is from a universe where WH13 and Eureka could be shows, such shows still won't exist. YES! But only if your character knows the NPC. Some NPCs are simply not known to the characters brought into the world by the camera. We list which NPCs the characters know HERE. Characters are told on arrival which Warehouse personnel they can contact. All the Univille NPCs can be met in town. If you want to have your character interact with the NPCs, shoot the Mods a message and we'll work something out. But we should warn you, Artie is grumpy, we apologize in advance. ☆ Artifact Plots - Every once in a while, usually due to the machinations of the mysterious person, but sometimes not, an Artifact will affect the characters in some fashion. It might make them all sing everything they want to say. It might leave them without one of their five senses. It might trap them in a mirror 'verse where terrible things happen. Artifacts range from beneficial to humorous to annoying to utterly dangerous. They are all unique, so unless you know the Artifact in question, you don't really know what to expect. ☆ Character-Driven Plots/Non-Artifact Plots - Not all shenanigans in Univille are due to Artifacts or that mysterious person causing problems. Sometimes the characters get up to no good. Sometimes, weather is a beast - this is South Dakota, after all, snow and cold are common in the winter. Sometimes other things just happen. We keep track of these plots (Artifact and character-driven) over HERE. We'd love to hear your ideas for plots, so please come tell us! ☆ Meta Plot - A mysterious individual (or is it a group? No one knows yet!) is spreading chaos and mayhem for no discernable reason. What is their end goal? Who knows? As the game progresses this meta plot will unfold, centering on the intrigues stirred up by this mysterious individual (or group), and it will require the assistance of the characters to unravel. We will keep matters updated on this front and explain how your character can participate each step of the way. OR, you are certainly welcome to come to ask individually and ask how your character can fit into things. You can check HERE for a comprehensive summary of the meta plot. No. While Artifacts are created all the time, they aren't as random and prevalent as all the flotsam just littering the streets or counters of our lives. They are rare compared to all the objects that fill the world. And for the purpose of the game, Artifacts will only come in contact with the played characters when the Mods say so. So, no, characters cannot find random Artifacts and use them. If you have an idea for a plot, we'd love to hear it. And then maybe you can help decide when and where the characters come in contact with an Artifact. No. At this time they cannot - at least, not without being invited and escorted by an Agent or a Regent. This is a highly secure facility with the latest in anti-trespassing, anti-break-in technology. (Not to mention the Artifacts they've employed to protect it.) If your character tries to break in, they will be caught, they'll receive a stern lecture from Artie (the real man, not the hologram), and given a warning. If they keep trying, there will be consequences. Talk to the Mods before your character tries anything with the Warehouse building. However, plots in the future might change things. We might utilize the characters in game. We will keep you posted. Nope. The Warehouse has many means of protection placed on it. The Regents employ both technological advances and protections from Artifacts. For the most part, these protections are impenetrable (though not infallible), but the Mods will determine when the Warehouse defenses are breached. Maybe! The Regents are very selective about who they hire even among this world’s natives, though, so there are some restrictions. ☆ You must have been playing the character seeking employment for three (3) months before they will be considered. This is partly to ensure people taking on a more active role in the game are sticking around for the long term, and partly because three OOC months is one IC month, and therefore long enough that the Regents will start considering your character a hirable option. ☆ Your character must have some sort of talent that would make them useful in the Warehouse’s line of work. There are many talents that could fall under this umbrella (see: Pete’s vibes, Myka’s eidetic memory), but being yanked in by the camera and whammied once or twice isn’t enough to do the trick. ☆ You must be willing to take on more responsibilities related to the meta plot, if necessary. All offworld hires are going to spend a good while doing inventory and research only, except in special circumstances – but the nature of the meta plot is such that inventory and research are still plot-relevant sometimes. To this end, preference will be given to players who have consistently made Activity Check. All other things being equal between two characters, preference will be given to the one that consistently does more than minimum Activity Check. Offworlders hired by the Warehouse will be given access to the areas of the B&B that were previously off limits to them, and the option to move to the second floor, which houses the other Warehouse employees. Keep in mind, though, that your character’s non-Warehouse-affiliated significant other would not be able to move with them. (Exceptions may be made for children or spouses, on a case by case basis.) To put your character in for consideration, drop a comment HERE. We totally get that you might want to roll with this option instead! Sometimes you can't help but let your character's evil flag fly. However, the Big Bad is just as discerning in their own way as the Regents, and there are just as many OOC restrictions: ☆ You must have been playing the character you’d like to get recruited for three (3) months before they will be considered. This is partly to ensure people taking on a more active role in the game are sticking around for the long term, and partly because three OOC months is one IC month, and therefore long enough that the Big Bad’s curiosity will be suitably piqued. ☆ Your character must have some sort of talent that would make them attractive to the Big Bad’s interests. There are many talents that could fall under this umbrella (above-average intelligence, skill at getting into things they shouldn’t, some of the same skill sets the Warehouse watches out for, that sort of thing), but being yanked in by the camera and whammied once or twice isn’t enough to do the trick. The Big Bad has a pretty good sales pitch going, though; depending on who they’re trying to recruit, it could be anything from a cushy apartment to an unlimited travel budget – and almost always, in the case of offworlders, false promises of a way home. If you think your character’s not necessarily on the talent list but could be swayed by the Big Bad’s offers, contact the Mods and we’ll see what we can do. ☆ You must be willing to take on more responsibilities related to the meta plot. After all, if you want to work for the Big Bad, you’re effectively joining the meta plot and helping it tick along some more! To this end, preference will be given to players who have consistently made Activity Check. All other things being equal between two characters, preference will be given to the one that consistently does more than minimum Activity Check. To put your character in for consideration, drop a comment HERE. There are three comms associated with this game, one Mod journal, and a handful of NPC character journals. Players do not need to friend the NPC journals, but if you want to familiarize yourself with those journals, they are linked in the game PROFILE. Network Comm - ![]() All network-style play goes in this comm. Farnsworth communication, phone calls, emails, letters, texts, messenger pigeon, deliveries, etc. - all of that goes here. Because some characters (Univille OCs, for example) might not have a Farnsworth, always put the type of communication your character is using in the subject of your post so everyone knows what their character can respond to. A reminder of this is on the STICKY POST for the network comm. Action spamming is allowed. Log Comm - ![]() All log-style play goes in this comm. Always make sure to use a header with appropriate information and trigger warnings, and use a cut for mature threads.. Oh, and look, we've got a lovely header template here: We've posted a reminder of this on the STICKY POST for the logs comm. What needs to be warned for? - The following things must be warned for on threads (logs and network posts alike): violence, sexual content, IC bigotry, and spoilers. If a thread contains this stuff, slap a warning on the OP. For warnings more detailed than this, if you feel something should be warned for in your thread, go ahead and add it. It’s better to err on the side of being courteous. OOC Comm - ![]() For all our player to player communications, this is the comm to use. Player intros, hiatus/slowatus notices, CR requests, memes, game praise, plot information, etc. If you have something you need to say to us players as a whole, do it here. The Mods will use this comm to post about any updates for the game. Be careful not to confused this comm with the NPC journal for Univille NPCs ( ![]() The in-game start date of the game is April 1st 2014. The first season of Warehouse 13 started 2009. The game picks up after the third season, which we've designated as taking place in 2013, a year prior to the opening of the in-game date. The AU for our game is 5 years after the canon start of the show. The final season of Eureka took place in 2012. However, the game will not take place in real time. Every three (3) days of Real Time (our time) is one (1) in-game day. We understand with the 3:1 ratio of real life time to game time can be a bit confusing. But we will keep the CALENDAR PAGE updated with all the necessary details. We will also post the Day # and Date in each community as the days change in-game so you don't get confused (HERE is where you look). YES! You can still play characters that cannot pass as an average human. The Warehouse provides characters who cannot pass for human with a Holoprojection Artifact, called the Holographic Human Interface Projector (shown HERE - the orb in the center of the necklace oscillates). The details of what it does can be found HERE. Non-human-passing characters will be given this device with their Survival Kits. Characters who are required to wear the projectors but do not will face consequences from the Regents. Before playing your character shirking the rules of the Regents, you must talk to the mods so that you are aware of what consequences are in store for your character. If you wish to play a character that cannot pass as human, you will need to pick an additional PB for your character's holoprojector. When your character must use their holoprojector, this is the face the NPCs will see and interact with. There is a spot on the application for you to list this. It will also be listed on the Taken page. Yes! A few of them can be apped! Check HERE for the list of WH13 characters that are appable in the game (because a few are simply not up for play) and which ones are still available. However, players should keep in mind the following: ☆ You will need Mod approval first. We don't bite, we promise! ☆ Players can only play up to two (2) WH13/Eureka character at a time. (The fandoms are counted together. Ex: 1 WH13 character, 1 Eureka character; OR 2 WH13 characters OR 2 Eureka characters.) ☆ Players must agree to certain restrictions and obligations when playing a WH13/Eureka character. They are integral to the continuation of the game and forwarding of the plot, so they will be required to do more for the game and meta plot. If you are interested in picking up a WH13/Eureka character, come see the Mods and we will discuss the requirements you will need to fulfill for the specific character you want to play. Playing a WH13/Eureka character (canon or OC) really is mostly dependent on how we can fit them into the game and if they are free to play. If the character died in canon prior to the canon start point of the game, we'll need to get creative (do not despair, there are options, but you'll need to talk to the Mods). There are other circumstances that might make it difficult to include some characters. We'll say up front, there are some characters from either show we simply won't let into the game due to their disruptive nature. The game has a certain goal and while we like to get sidetracked by character plots from time to time, we don't want to stray too far. If you're unsure whether the character you want to play will be allowed, there's an easy way to find out - come talk to the Mods. Given that both the organizations in Warehouse 13 and Alphas are so sweeping and affect the world completely, they'd surely know about each other, but conspicuous by its absence is any acknowledgement of the other in either show. Yes, we know Alphas was ended too soon and too abruptly and maybe it would have come up in later seasons, and yes, we know that Dr. Calder from WH13 was on Alphas, and she even had the same name. When we weigh everything, however, we've decided that Alphas is its own little reality and not part of the WH13/Eureka universe. Characters from Alphas will show up via that camera Artifact, and they'll just have to deal with the oddity that the Dr. Calder of this reality is not the same Dr. Calder they know. 25. I notice the game takes place at a set date. Can I play a character from a fandom that was created after the date of the game? YUP! The Artifact responsible for pulling characters into this universe does not heed such silly things as linear time. New fandoms are being created all the time, and we wouldn't want to limit who can be played in our game. The camera sometimes spits people back to their realities. When that happens, the projection runs in reverse and it is recorded by the instruments the Warehouse has set up to monitor the Artifact. The Agents will let people know when someone has been returned to their reality. The objects that arrived with the character will return with the character (ex: If Harry Potter arrived with his wand, his wand would go with him). Other things acquired while in the game will be left where the character last left them. The Agents will gather their belongings that no one wants to keep and put them in storage in the Warehouse. To avoid bickering over who gets what, please see the Mods before claiming another character's left items. (If there's fighting about an item, the Mods will simply declare the Agents took it. We're serious.) Unless the Mods declare otherwise, dropped characters are usually up for re-application. All character death must be Mod-approved. Sometimes death can be reversed in this reality with the help of an Artifact - SOMETIMES - not all the time. Because we are dealing with a reality that cannot just 'fix' all the booboos, unless there's a compelling reason connected to the meta plot, character death when not in conjunction to an Artifact plot will more than likely be seen as permanent and the players will be giving up the ability to play that character. Characters can be pulled from any canon point, however, even post-death. This is due to the nature of the camera. However, the camera will not 'heal mortality' once the characters leave the Projection Room. Once a month without fail (from the 1st - 7th), there will be an activity check. Every player will be required to provide proof for each character of at least ONE (1) instance of substantial interaction in which their character participated. This link will need to meet the following requirements: For logs, ☆ It must contain at least one (1) subthread that has a minimum number of five (5) comments between your character and at least one other character. For network posts, ☆ it must contain at least one (1) subthread that has a minimum number of ten (10) comments OR two (2) subthreads that split ten (10) comments between them in any combination other than 1-9 (9 comments in one subthread, 1 comment in the other), again, between your character and at least one other character. (Action spam threads are acceptable.) For either type of play, ☆ If the post was made by your character, no subthreads can be ignored by your character. ☆ The post will need to have been started in the month being checked, and have reached the minimum comment requirement during same month. ☆ If a post is made on an IC day that overlaps the end of a calendar month (i.e. 31-1-2 or 29-30-1), that post can be used to meet AC requirements for either calendar month it overlaps. For example, a post made on the last day of June but the first day of an IC day can be used for the June or July AC. Once the game starts, for a thread to be counted as part of in-game canon and to be used for activity checks, it must be posted to the logs or network comms. Players are welcome to use email or gdocs to work out a scene and then post it whole to the comms. Keep In Mind - This minimum should not be all that you do in the game every month. You should be striving to do more than this bare minimum. We understand one-off months, as RL hits everyone from time to time. But if we notice a player character squatting, we will talk to them and tell them to improve. If they do not improve they will either lose characters or be removed from the game. John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt’s middle name is what? Don’t panic! We’re a friendly bunch, and we do understand that RL happens sometimes. If AC is coming and you’re concerned: ☆ Get in touch with the Mods! We’d be happy to boomerang a quick thread with you to make sure you won’t fall behind. If AC is here and you find you haven’t hit it: ☆ Please DO respond to the AC post with whatever you do have. Something is better than nothing! ☆ If you’re on the bubble with a thread you’ve already started, try to get it to the AC threshold by the end of AC week. ☆ Sometimes RL bites you in the rear or you just have a one-off bad month; we get it! In that case, talk to the Mods and see if you’re eligible for an AC pass. For the next month’s activity, you will be asked to submit DOUBLE AC (10 log comments or 20 network comments) for each character you took a pass for. Keep In Mind - While we understand that RL emergencies crop up, you should NOT rely on barely scraping through ACs month after month. If you’ve already gotten a pass with below-minimum activity one month, then we expect you to AT LEAST hit the minimum AC threshold the next month, unless you clear it with the Mods first. Players who do not meet this may lose characters or be removed from the game. That depends on why you dropped. If you notified us you were dropping: ☆ While we won’t hold your character for you in between your drop and re-app, you’re welcome to re-app the same character if they’re still available, and maintain their original in-game development. We’re not going to ask anything special of you, and we’ll be happy to have you back! If you were removed for failing to hit Activity Check: ☆ For your first AC back in the game that requires more than a Roll Call response, we will expect TWO (2) links to threads that meet the minimum AC requirement, whether you’ve re-apped with the same character or not. In this situation, you’re still welcome to re-app, but we want to be sure you can meet the game’s bare minimum requirements on your second try. Hiatuses are allowed: RL happens, we understand. Go HERE to request an official hiatus and for further details. Please note the following: ☆ They cannot be for more than one month at a time (unofficial, unannounced hiatuses are counted in this). ☆ Hiatuses shorter than two weeks cannot be used to get out of doing the bare minimum activity requirement each month. Hiatuses in general should not be used to get out of submitting activity check. (Of course, we are not blind to RL emergencies. If you have a pressing RL issue to take care of, talk to us. Passes on the AC will only be allowed with Mod approval.) ☆ They cannot be abused or used too frequently. If we see someone abusing hiatuses (official or unofficial), we will talk to the player about the situation. If they do not improve, they will either lose characters or be removed from the game. Players are only excused from the activity check if a real-life emergency takes them away from the game during that time. Otherwise, everyone is required to provide proof they are doing the minimum to stay in the game. If you know you will be unable to respond to the AC prior to the posting of the AC, contact the Mods! You will be asked to give us proof of your activity via email prior to your absence from the game. You should be managing your time wisely; we do not feel one thing per character per month is too difficult. Only players who have approval will be exempt from the AC. Do not fret! Come talk to the Mods. We'd love to help your inquizitive mind. Our Mod Contact page is HERE. We also list the many ways you can contact us on that page. Go HERE for our Holds page, and then get the application HERE. |
