ARTIFACT & CHARACTER DRIVEN PLOTS
PLOTS: ARTIFACT & CHARACTER DRIVEN PLOTS |
Below we list all the previous Artifact plots and character-driven plots that have happened here in The Warehouse. If you have an idea for either, you're welcome to comment with that idea here - be as descriptive as possible so we get a good picture of what you have in mind - or you can simply talk to the Mods about your idea. We'd love to hear it. An Artifact found its way into the town diner; customers who were served water from it experienced waking nightmares that showed them their worst fears. Perhaps because several Warehouse agents were out of town dealing with another issue, the problem lingered for a few days before two offworlders cracked the case – Ruby by noticing the problem seemed to originate from the diner, and Ianto by camping out there until he spotted the common denominator. This was a catalyst for the eventual change to what cover story new arrivals were given during orientation. On the same day as the pitcher turned up in the diner, someone – as of yet, it’s unclear who – changed the date on Helena’s time machine from the date it was last used to access to the date of Christina’s death, and activated it while a video camera some ghost hunters managed to turn into an Artifact was on one of the chairs. The resulting Artifact interaction drew Christina’s consciousness forward from the moment of her death, tying it to the video camera in hologram form (needless to say, Helena was less than pleased by that aspect). After some dithering, Mrs. Frederic recommended taking Christina to Eureka and having a body 3D-printed for her. After a routine snag-and-bag, Pete left the Artifact – a cat clock that turned people into cats for two hours – unattended in the living room for long enough to whammy several people. (Great job, Pete!) This resulted in a rather chaotic afternoon, and had the unintended consequence of sending Joshua to the hospital after he got scratched. An enterprising tourist with a metal detector scooped up a silver dollar in Deadwood; Sarah Manning, in one of her last actions before she disappeared, nicked it and brought it back to the B&B, unaware she’d just unleashed an Artifact on the place. It took several days for someone to catch up to it, but Naoto finally did, allowing Claudia to bag it and stop the coin broadcasting the memories of whoever flipped it to the entire building. Breaking the tether keeping new arrivals stuck within 15 miles of the Warehouse began its life as Helena’s project; however, between her personal issues and the fact that Joshua had done a little poking, she handed it off to him (though she did help another investigation of the barrier). Still, her work did help spur Joshua on to the breakthrough he needed to re-formulate the goo and break the tether. After learning a bit about how Artifacts work (well, as much as anyone knows) from Joshua, Ianto took it upon himself to build an Artifact energy detector, borrowing Joshua’s area-of-effect caffeine Artifact to test it. The first run didn’t quite work according to plan, but the second attempt did, just in time for the tether breaking. A rash of mysterious deaths broke out in Univille; in each case, the victim died in a manner they’d previously seen happen. This would have been a serious matter regardless, but far less so had the Artifact behind it not crossed paths with several of the B&B’s residents as well – the vast majority of them have seen, or even experienced, death for themselves. With virtually everyone either incapacitated or trying their best not to become so, it ultimately fell to Joshua and Leena to bag the Artifact, after Helena exposed herself to the whammy to spare Pete, breaking her arm in the process. Some sort of Artifact mishap in the Warehouse – this one likely triggered by the Warehouse itself rather than any human intervention – pulled forward one David Wolcott from the middle of a pitched battle with pirates. Who knows what the Warehouse’s machinations in doing so were (well, probably Mrs. Frederic, but she’s not telling). Brief description of the plot goes here. |
